Ken, Alfredo, and Elvis Rosales have been running The 3 Amigos since 2005. On Tuesdays, the kitchen opens at 4pm with a full Oaxacan taco menu: handmade tortillas, house-roasted salsas, all the classics. The menu doesn't change; the quality does. And you won't pay chain prices for it.

Taco Tuesday in Edmonton: What's on at The 3 Amigos

Taco Tuesday at The 3 Amigos is 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, every Tuesday. It's not a gimmick. The kitchen commits to the full Oaxacan taco lineup: Al Pastor, Carnitas, Birria, Pescado, Suadero, Pollo Pastor, Tequila Limon Pollo, Camaron, and Jamaica Y Calabaza. Nine tacos, all made with handmade corn tortillas and house-roasted salsas. Most chains can't pull that off on their busiest night, let alone Tuesday.

Regulars in Rideau Park and Southgate know what Tuesday means. They don't bother with the drive-thru chains anymore. Come 4pm, they're at The 3 Amigos. Ken, Alfredo, and Elvis built the kitchen on the principle that shortcuts show. It's why people come back.

Tuesday 4–8pm. Handmade tortillas. House-roasted salsas. No shortcuts. This is why people in Rideau Park and Southgate order ahead.

The Taco Lineup: What to Order on a Tuesday

Start with Al Pastor. Succulent marinated spiced pork, onion, cilantro. It's the kind of dish that takes time to get right, and the 3 Amigos gets it right. The spice is balanced. The meat is moist. You're not fighting a dry taco.

Then try Carnitas: seasoned, moist pulled pork with mango salsa. This is what keeps regulars coming back. The mango cuts the richness. The pork is braised long enough that you don't need teeth to eat it. Soft, tender, flavor-forward.

Birria is the marquee. Slow-cooked beef brisket served with a consommé dip. Dip the tortilla, fill it, fold it. The broth is rich because the brisket has been in there for hours. That's not a shortcut. That's craft.

Pescado is the wild card: cerveza battered red snapper with pico de gallo, pickled cabbage, avocado, and chipotle mayonnaise. Fish tacos at most places taste fishy or greasy or both. The 3 Amigos balances the crispy batter with brightness from the cabbage and avocado. Order it if you want something that doesn't taste like every other taco place in Edmonton.

Can't decide? Order the Fiesta De Tacos: 12 pieces, your choice of any four kinds. It's $79. You'll leave knowing exactly what you want next time.

Why Handmade Tortillas and House Salsas Make the Difference

You taste the difference between a made-today tortilla and one shipped in from a distributor. You just do. Most taco places order theirs cold. The 3 Amigos makes theirs in the kitchen, following Oaxacan culinary traditions: the corn, the techniques, everything from scratch.

The 3 Amigos makes their tortillas in the kitchen. Every one. It changes the texture. It changes the taste. A fresh corn tortilla has this slight sweetness to it. It bends without cracking. It doesn't fall apart when you dip it in consommé.

The salsas are roasted in-house too. Roja, Verde, Diablo. The difference between house-roasted and a bottled salsa is the same as the difference between fresh-made and frozen. One tastes alive. The other tastes like a shelf.

Fresh handmade tortillas and house-roasted salsas aren't luxuries. They're the baseline for tasting what tacos are supposed to taste like.

This is what separates the 3 Amigos from the chain taco places. The family (Ken, Alfredo, Elvis) built this restaurant on the idea that shortcuts show. Every tortilla, every salsa, every dip proves it.
